Great Plains has added its Max-Chisel primary tillage tool to its Implement Command System (ICS) compatible implements. The ISOBUS-compatible ICS lets operators configure, adjust, and monitor implements as needed in the tractor cab. It works with an existing virtual terminal, so no additional monitors are needed. For tractors with multiple displays, dual virtual terminals let operators transfer implement controls to the next available virtual terminal on the bus.

ICS With Max-Chisel Helps You Take Control

ICS is also compatible with Great Plains' VT1100 Turbo-Max seedbed preparation tool, select 7000 Series disk harrow configurations, the HS2100 Velocity hybrid tillage tool, and select HT1100 Terra-Max hybrid tillage tool variants.

    ICS functionalities include:

    • Programmable presets to control the implement's depth with the touch of a button
    • On-screen controls to set down pressure
    • Viewing gang angle settings, fore and aft leveling, and other information

When using ICS with the Max-Chisel chisel plow, operators can control tillage depth and finisher pressure to achieve customized results. For 17- or 19-foot (5.2- or 5.8-meter) Max-Chisels with shanks, ICS allows operators to use on-screen controls to set the wing pressure according to field conditions.

    The Max-Chisel Up Close

Designed to be an aggressive soil-management tool, the Max-Chisel can achieve complete soil fracture, even at shallower depths, according to Great Plains. In the fall, the tool's vertical tillage capability helps to remove ruts, limit erosion, and capture moisture. In the spring, operators can pair the Max-Chisel with a seedbed preparation tool to ready the soil for a single pass.

The Max-Chisel is available in six models, including two rigid configurations ranging from 11.5- to 14-ft. (3.5 to 4.3 m) tillage widths and four folding variants ranging from 16.5 to 24 ft. (5 to 7.3 m) widths. All models provide hydraulically adjustable disc gang depth control and toggle-trip reset shanks able to till to a 12-inch (30.5-centimeter) depth.

The implement leverages two opposing rows of concave turbo-wave blades that feature patented "samurai" edges, and it's usable with chopper reel or roller finishing attachments.
