    About Dozers

Dozers are tough, heavy, but ultimately simple machines, having a large metal blade up front to push earth and other materials around. Some dozers also have a ripper device at the rear to loosen up compacted material. You will find bulldozers deployed in all sorts of situations, from quarries and mines to landfills, construction sites, and even military engineering projects.

    Types Of Dozers

Dozers come in either crawler or wheeled configurations. Wheel dozers are generally faster and more maneuverable, and are great for use on already tampered ground. The tracks on a crawler dozer, on the other hand, allow it to work more effectively on rougher or softer terrain where wheels would potentially be a disadvantage. In addition, a crawler dozer’s tracks put a much larger surface area in contact with the ground, which not only improves traction but also reduces ground pressure and causes less surface disruption.

    Blade Options

Some manufacturers offer a variety of blade options that are designed for a particular usage case. Caterpillar, for example, offers Universal, Semi-Universal, Waste, Coal, Reclamation, and Wood Chip blade options for its D9 large dozers. Similarly, Deere dozers are available with multiple blade options, including U, semi-U, straight, and power-angle-tilt (PAT) options that vary by model.

    Machine Control Features

As is the case with most types of heavy equipment, dozer manufacturers have begun offering a range of factory-installed (and, in some cases, retrofittable) operator-assistance technologies that reduce operators’ workload and help complete grading and other tasks more accurately and quickly. Cat Grade Control 3D and CASE SiteControl 3D, for instance, use satellite positioning and/or 3D spatial data and onboard sensors to automatically position a dozer’s blade during grading operations, resulting in fewer passes and saving time and money.

    Find The Right Dozer

You will typically find thousands of new and used dozers for sale on this site from numerous manufacturers including CASE, Caterpillar, Deere, Komatsu, Liebherr, and many others.
