    About Wheel Excavators

When compared to crawler excavators, wheel excavators offer construction professionals the versatility and maneuverability to work in urban, roadside environments, and on other surfaces where a tracked machine might cause damage. Operators can also easily move the wheel excavator around the jobsite without a truck or trailer, and some models can travel short distances and cross paved roadways to go between jobsites. Wheel excavators also typically provide a wider rotation range, greater capacity for digging and lifting, and longer-reaching booms than backhoe loaders.

    Wheel Excavator Features

Mobility and jobsite versatility are the calling cards of wheel excavators. The machines typically have the power to handle everything from light construction or utility work to larger-scale excavation projects, all while offering the ability to work on- and off-road. Similar to track excavators, wheel excavators can utilize a variety of attachments to go from digging to demolition, grinding, and material handling (like placing concrete barriers).

    Go Standard Or Compact

Wheel excavators come in a wide variety of sizes and power ratings. Standard-size wheel excavators often feature power ratings between 150 and 180 horsepower, while compact models tend to offer less than 100 HP. Engine power and digging force on wheel excavators tend to be in line with similarly sized tracked models, but to optimize stability and power, operators will often need to deploy outriggers and a dozer blade. Mini excavators (also called “compact excavators”) tend to offer even more support for attachments, such as augers, brooms, buckets, hammers, scrapers, shredders, and trenchers that let operators use a single machine for multiple earth-moving and construction applications.

    Find The Right Wheel Excavator
