RentBale accumulators and movers reduce the labor associated with collecting bales following production and transporting them where they need to go.
Read More (About Bale Accumulators & Movers)Whether attached directly to a baler (often called a “bale accumulator”) or a machine built to gather, stack, and move bales (sometimes called a “mover”), bale accumulators and movers reduce the manual labor involved in baling and moving bales from (and back to) the field. Many bale accumulators and movers are designed to make stacking, moving, and unloading bales a one-person job.
Bale accumulators typically attach to a round or square baler and collect the finished bales, allowing operators to drop them at a desired, convenient location. The latest bale accumulators feature an automated loading process, by which operators can collect bales without ever having to touch one. Bale capacities vary, but many models support up to three large square bales or up to 10 small square bales. Round bale accumulators are less common, but there are few options currently on the market. Some square bale accumulators also feature a modular design, so you can accumulate bales in different arrangements on the receiving bed to optimize capacity. When the bale accumulator is full, the baler can eject the all the bales at once. Due to the often-proprietary design of bale accumulators, the machines are generally designed exclusively for use with a certain brand or model of square or round baler.
When it comes time to pick up the bales in the field, a bale mover (sometimes called a “bale grabber” or “bale carrier”) can be used to pick up the bales and transport them. Bale movers are available in a variety of models to suit square and round bales. Modern bale movers are designed with grabbers to pick up bales placed on the ground. As the bales are lifted onto the deck, a push mechanism on the carrier moves them to the back, making room for the next bale to be picked up. Some models include a stacking mechanism (typically found in large, wagon-style haulers) and can transport bales in tall stacks, thereby increasing hauling capacity. The gentle pickup arms load the bale quickly while avoiding damage to maintain bale quality and profitability. Many bale movers are pulled and powered by a tractor, although some manufacturers offer self-propelled machines that pick up and stack bales.
