Types Of Grapple Trucks

You’ll find several types of grapple trucks on the market today, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Choosing the right configuration for your needs can make your operation more productive and efficient.

• Loader and body. In this configuration, the grapple arm is connected to a dump truck, and the operator can move collected waste directly into the truck’s dump bed using the crane.
• Roll-off. This truck’s arm is placed between the cab and the waste container. If one bin is full, the operator can replace it with another and continue working. 
• Rear-steer. This truck's control station is placed between its cab and the grapple arm, allowing the operator to see the crane while loading the collection bin at the rear of the chassis. 
• Rear-mounted grappling arm, no attached collection bin. This truck only has the arm that collects waste and deposits it into a second truck as they move along the road or through a cleanup site. With an additional truck to take turns loading and unloading, this grapple truck type can work for long stretches without interruption. 
• Rear-mounted grappling arm with a connected trailer. Similar in structure to the previous type of grapple truck, this one also allows attaching and detaching trailers at the rear of the chassis, thus eliminating the need for additional waste collection trucks.
