JCB’s new Series III Loadall telehandlers for farm applications promise greater lift capacity, quieter operation, and a more comfortable Command Plus cab. Among the six new models, available in AGRI Super and AGRI Plus editions, are the JCB 538-60, 542-70, 536-95, and 560-80.

“The new JCB Series III telehandlers are the culmination of significant product upgrades over the past six years that have reinforced JCB’s technology, performance, and fuel-efficiency lead in the ag telescopic handler market,” says JCB North America Agriculture Vice President Shane Coates. “The new Command Plus cab adds class-leading interior space, noise levels, climate control, and all-round visibility, with increased lift capacity and other new features adding to the machines’ productivity and capabilities.”

    Series III Features

The new JCB Loadall agricultural telehandlers’ EcoMAX engines range from 109 to 145 horsepower and don’t require a DPF (diesel particulate filter). They can attain travel speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h) using a six-speed JCB Autoshift transmission. The gearbox provides either manual or automatic shifting, and its two top gears can use a direct-drive TorqueLock feature for towing.

The advanced Command Plus cab offers many adjustments and easier entry and exit. It’s 50% quieter during operation than its predecessor at just 69 dBA. Visibility is enhanced by 66% faster defrosting and the removal of the cross member at the front of the cab roof. JCB also improved the cab’s ventilation, controls, and storage capacity.

    The JCB 560-80 AGRI

Information is newly available on the largest and most powerful of the new Series III JCBs, the 560-80 AGRI. Built for bulk material handling, the big 560-80 can lift up to 12,000 pounds (5,433 kilograms) and up to 6,613 lbs (3,000 kg) at its 25-foot, 11-inch (7.9-meter) full lifting height. The manufacturer says that the machine’s telescopic boom is the strongest it has ever built; this, along with its Z-bar linkage, endows it with “huge” breakout force. The 560-80 has a maximum forward reach of 14 ft, 6 in (4.4 m) and an operating weight of 23,755 lbs (10,775 kg).

JCB equipped the 560-80’s regenerative hydraulics system with a new fast-flow oil return. This, the company says, speeds up the lowering and retraction of the boom, cutting cycle times by 19% and fuel usage by 15%.
