Canadian Construction Equipment Inventory Levels Declined In April
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover April data for used construction equipment on MarketBook.ca and other Sandhills platforms. Overall, inventory in Canada declined while auction values mostly increased, with some exceptions.
April inventory levels continue to look much leaner than a year ago, ranging from compact track loaders’ 16.9% year-over-year decline to loader backhoes’ remarkable 33.8% Y/Y drop. On a monthly basis, inventory depletion was driven by excavators, with mini excavators down 13.6% month over month and crawler units down 6.0% M/M.
Month-to-month auction values’ general movement upward topped out with wheeled skid steers’ 1.9% M/M hike and crawler dozers’ 1.8% M/M increase. However, wheel loaders and crawler excavators played spoiler, retreating 3.7% M/M and 2.4% M/M in auction value, respectively.
