Customize Your Operation With JCB’s Fastrac iCON Tractors
JCB recently launched its new Fastrac 4000 and 8000 Series tractors with new customizable tech-based controls. The Fastrac iCON system combines iConfigure, iConnect, and iControl to allow operators to create a bespoke control setup with advanced precision ag technology and new driveline software.
The new Fastracs come in a range from 175 to 348 horsepower (133 to 260 kilowatts) and feature the speed-based Smart Transmission Control in which operators set the forward speed and the tractor automatically balances engine speed and gear ratio to reach the set speed based on the current workload. Joystick and pedal driving modes are automatically selected according to which control is used without the need to preselect an option, and operators have two input configurations from which to choose when using the joystick.
iCON-ic Control
The new iCON armrest console and 12-inch color touchscreen display can be positioned according to the operator’s preference and visibility requirements. The seat-mounted console features new main and auxiliary joysticks, assignable RGB LED color-coded levers to control spool valves, and PTO and hitch controls. There are also hard keys and an encoder dial as an alternative to the touch screen for those who prefer a more tactile control.
The high-definition touchscreen has five display templates for conveying primary information, as well as a basic run screen similar to the existing Fastrac tractors. Users can swipe to access a detailed running screen with settings for as many as six electric spool valves while still viewing essential status information, a remote camera, an ISOBUS 2 Universal Terminal, and satellite guidance and precision farming options on the other five screens.
Easier, Comfortable Operation
Headland Turn Assist now offers up to 50 individual sequences with up to 50 steps on each to ease field operations. Other new features include a 7-inch digital dashboard display for speed, engine rpm readouts, and other essential information and optional ISOBUS control of both rear- and front-mounted implements using the touchscreen with the auxiliary joystick for more finely tuned control. The Fastrac series offer two GPS options. Operators can choose a fully integrated system with a Novatel Smart-7 receiver, a steering controller, and JCB user interface, or the GPS Ready option with aftermarket guidance and precision farming technology.
Operators can work comfortably with a fully automatic climate control air conditioning system with solar load sensor and ambient temperature monitoring. An air suspension seat with heat and ventilation is available with the Field Pro and Pro Line option packs.
About The Fastrac 8830
The 8830 has a hydropneumatic suspension for comfort and stability along with a mid-mounted cab position for 360-degree visibility. The 50-50 weight distribution and all-around suspension let the tractor operate comfortably and effectively on uneven surfaces, and with a top speed of 43 mph (69 km/h), it can move quickly from one job to the next. Four-wheel disc brakes create more consistent stopping while the anti-lock brake system retains stability and steering.
About The Fastrac 4220
The 4220 has five implement positions: drawbar, rear linkage, front linkage, front chassis, and rear deck. In addition to four-wheel steering, the Fastrac 4220 has a rapid steer option to make quicker headland turns. Powered by a 235-HP (175-kW) 6.6-liter, six-cylinder engine, the tractor can reach a top road speed of 37 mph (60 km/h).
