Agco Bringing New Fendt 700 Vario Series Tractors To North America With Horsepower In 203 To 283 Range
Agco is bringing its new Fendt 700 Vario-series tractors to the North American market beginning in 2023. The newest iteration of Fendt’s best-selling tractor range is equipped with a VarioDrive transmission, the Fendt iD low engine speed concept, and greater hydraulic capacity for increased efficiency. The 700 Vario series consists of five models ranging from 203 to 283 horsepower (151 to 211 kilowatts). The new series made its debut recently at the 2022 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois.
Efficient Power
The tractors are equipped with an Agco Power 7.5-liter engine with Fendt iD low engine speed concept. The single-range VarioDrive transmission operates seamlessly from as low as 65 feet per hour to as high as 33 mph. There’s no need for manual switching between field and road operations. The drive train distributes power dynamically and drives the front and rear axles as needed.
The VarioGrip integrated tire pressure regulation system and a reversing fan are also available as options. VarioGrip increases contact area with the ground and boosts tractive power by up to 8%. Air pressure can be raised for road driving to help the tires last longer and improve the ride. Fendt’s DynamicPerformance technology, available in the 728 Vario DP, adds up to 20 horsepower through a demand-dependent control system. The extra power is not tied to driving speed or special auxiliary functions.
Operate In Comfort
In the cab, operators will enjoy easy control via the FendtONE workstation; Fendt also offers an impressive array of six new seat options that let buyers customize their tractor for comfort and efficiency. The new premium leather seat option comes with massage, heating, and cooling features that are controlled by the FendtONE terminal. Operators can adjust the seat and save their settings in a personalized seat profile, which can then be activated with one click for driver changes.
The 700 Vario series is operated by the multifunction joystick and the 3L joystick in FendtONE and operators can monitor functions on the 10-inch digital dashboard and 12-inch armrest terminal. Growers can also add a second optional, retractable 12-inch terminal in the headliner.
“Agco has always focused on providing customer-first solutions, and the Fendt 700 Vario series delivers on that promise,” says David Soliday, senior tactical marketing manager for Fendt tractors. “With a combination of key upgrades and new features, these tractors are the perfect combination of strength, agility, functionality, and comfort, making them ideal for everything from haying and livestock work to heavy-duty field or fleet operations.”
