JCB 18Z-I Compact Excavator To Make North American Debut At GIE+EXPO

    Posted On: October 18, 2018

JCB is set to make the North American debut of its all-new 18Z-I compact excavator at the GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky in mid-October. Aimed at landscaping applications, the machine is JCB’s first zero-tailswing offering in the 1- to 2-ton excavator class. (Photo courtesy of JCB.)

The GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky, is the place to be from Oct. 17 to 19 to get a firsthand look at JCB’s all-new 18Z-I compact excavator. JCB will also have its Teleskid 3TS-8T compact track loader on hand, and will give visitors to its booth (No. 11204) an opportunity to enter the “Win a Teleskid” sweepstakes for a chance to win a one-year lease of a new JCB Teleskid compact track loader. The company will make special pricing and other offers available, including to landscapers looking to take advantage of Section 179 tax benefits before year’s end.

    “Maximum Durability”

Set to make its North American debut at GIE+EXPO, the 18Z-I is billed as being ideal for landscaping applications. It’s also JCB’s first zero-tailswing machine in the 1- to 2-ton excavator class. With an all-steel body and operating weight checking in at 3,856 pounds (1,749 kilograms), the machine is built for “maximum durability.” The loader also minimizes operator maintenance tasks and reduces downtime via its 500-hour greasing intervals, JCB says. The loader has a maximum dig depth of 8.5 feet (2.6 meters), maximum dump height of 8.8 feet (2.7 meters), and 3,691-pound (1,671-kilogram) transport weight that makes for “easy towing without a commercial driver’s license.”

Also appearing at the GIE+EXPO for JCB will be the company’s 3TS-8T Teleskid compact track loader, which JCB says is the world’s first compact track loader featuring a telescopic boom. (Photo courtesy of JCB.)

The 74-horsepower tracked Teleskid 3TS-8T, meanwhile, is “the world’s first compact track loader with a telescopic boom,” a trait that JCB says enables the machine to reach 60 percent further and lift 8 percent higher than other skid steers on the market. JCB says the Teleskid 3TS-8T is also the only skid steer to integrate vertical lift advantages (meaning greater lift capacity and lift height) and radial lift (meaning enhanced excavating and grading) in one machine. JCB also manufactures a wheeled 3TS-8W model.

    Special Pricing Offers

Ashby Graham, JCB North America general manager for product, says the JCB machines appearing at GIE+EXPO provide landscaping professionals the power and reliability they want and “the innovative capabilities they need to outperform their competition.” The special pricing and other offers JCB is offering include 0 percent financing on all JCB machines for 60 months, $5,000 savings or 0 percent 60-month financing on all compact track loaders, $4,000 savings or 0 percent 60-month financing for all skid steer loaders, and $9,000 savings or 0 percent 60-month financing for all backhoe loaders. A JCB Seasonal Lease with payments as low as $99 per month during the off-season is also available.
