CASE Reveals 2019 Updates To Its N Series Backhoe Loaders
CASE Construction Equipment recently announced a series of upgrades for its model year 2019 N Series backhoe loaders. Some new features are exclusive to one machine, like the 580SN Wide Track getting a power upgrade to 110 horsepower, or a certain subset, like a new electronic fuel priming system for the 580N and other larger models. The rest of the updates cover the entire N Series, depending on the specific configuration, and focus primarily on improved controls, a refreshed interior, and better overall performance.
Performance & Usability
Direct Drive is an upgrade for all CASE H-Type and S-Type transmissions that makes it easier for N Series loader backhoes to climb steep inclines and offers higher speeds and better fuel efficiency during travel. Direct Drive is also available on the PowerDrive transmission and triggers automatically when the operator shifts into the third and fourth gears. A new hydraulic thumb, which is available as a factory-installed feature for CASE extendahoe models, offers improved performance while working on the jobsite and makes it much easier to change attachments. Owners can also change out thumbs in the future without the need for welding.
Updated Controls & Interior
CASE added a PowerBoost button to the left joystick in its N Series loader backhoes to provide extra hydraulic power for breaking through harder materials without lowering engine RPM. Other updates to the joysticks include roller switches, a declutch trigger designed specifically for repetitive tasks, a forward lock on the roller/rocker switch “for use with attachments such as brooms and snow blowers,” and a Forward-Neutral-Reverse switch for faster shifting. Interior updates include an air-ride seat with better cushioning and the option for built-in heating, and a Bluetooth-compatible radio that lets operators listen to music or answer phone calls without taking their hands off of the controls.
