The new Sandhills Global market report covering June data for used Canadian heavy-duty construction equipment on MarketBook.ca and other Sandhills platforms shows inventory levels trending up. The used wheel loader category pushed month-over-month and year-over-year increases in the market.
Examining asking prices and auction values, MarketBook Manager Chuck Lewis says, “Excavator auction EVI (Equipment Value Index) showed an increase over asking EVI in year-over-year variance. This is something for dealers to take note of here as we head into the third quarter.”
Buyers and sellers can use the information in the Sandhills EVI to monitor equipment markets and maximize returns on acquisition, liquidation, and related business decisions. The Sandhills EVI data include equipment available in auction and retail markets and model-year equipment actively in use. EVI spread measures the percentage difference between asking and auction values.
