The Class A motorhome’s 45-foot (13.7-meter) 45 FZ floor plan has been updated for the 2023 model year with luxurious appointments and modern technologies. The 45 FZ diesel pusher offers 7-ft (2.1-m) ceilings, a full bath and a half bath, plenty of storage inside and out, and new bonded windows.
General Features Of The 2023 Zephyr
Tiffin builds the Zephyr on its proprietary PowerGlide Chassis with a rear-engine design. Its 605-horsepower (451-kilowatt) Cummins X15 diesel engine produces 1,950 pounds-foot (2,643 newton-meters) of torque to motivate the motorhome down the road with ease. The Zephyr has an Allison six-speed automatic transmission and a three-stage compression brake. For towing, the RV has a 20,000-pound (9,072-kilogram) hitch rating and an Air Force One tow vehicle brake system.
New dual-pane, bonded windows let in natural light while retaining the 65,600 BTUs of warmth from the Aqua-Hot 600D heat exchanger. Shades provide privacy as needed. Gold Heat provides the dual-zone heating system beneath the tile floor. The Zephyr has a Valid air leveling system as well as hydraulic leveling jacks. A 12.5-kW Onan Quiet Diesel generator supplies auxiliary power when necessary. A Spyder multiplex system manages all the electronic features of the motorhome, and the Mira app lets you control key systems from your smartphone or tablet.
Outside, two powered, dual-pitch awnings by Girard come with integrated LED lighting. The patio awnings shelter the external TV and soundbar. Gas-assisted, side-swinging hatches give you access to the Zephyr’s exterior storage compartments. The coach’s one-piece front and rear caps are made of molded gel-coat fiberglass. Tiffin offers two exterior design options with six color choices each.
Living Area & Kitchen
Overhead storage is plentiful throughout the Zephyr’s 45 FZ floor plan. Its updated, handcrafted, hardwood cabinets are available in five colors, including three glazed cherry options. The heated tile floors come in Gemstone off-white or Gunmetal deep gray.
Tiffin offers a number of furniture options for the main living area of the 45 FZ. Reclining theater seats directly face a lift TV that slides up into view. An available air coil sofa bed can convert to sleep two. A dinette computer workstation option comes with a sliding tabletop and under-counter storage.
The Zephyr’s well-appointed kitchen is a point of pride for its manufacturer. All countertops are made of quartz as a standard feature. A sink cover, cooktop cover, and extending island can supply even more countertop space. There’s an InSinkErator faucet that provides instant hot water. An optional beverage cooler can replace a stack of drawers next to the residential refrigerator. Finally, the Zephyr is an all-electric coach with no gas appliances.
Master Bed & Bath
Aft of the kitchen and a half-bath is the 45 FZ’s master bedroom. It boasts a king-size mattress, a TV, and an electric fireplace for heat and ambience. Natural light can enter through windows at the head of the bed if desired.
The next stop rearward is a full bathroom with a double vanity and quartz countertops. The mirrors above the sinks swing open to reveal medicine cabinets. The Zephyr’s shower is a walk-in style with a residential glass door and solid-surface panels with inlaid accent tiles. An Aqua View Showermiser keeps water from being wasted until it’s warm enough for a shower.
Finally, there is a couple of security features. Above the toilet of the master bath is an egress window in case of emergency. Also, there is a standard safe for valuables in the full rear closet.
