Doosan To Display DX62R-3 & DX85R-3 Compact Excavators At The 2021 American Rental Association Show
The Doosan DX62R-3 and DX85R-3 reduced-tailswing compact excavators will make an appearance in exhibit space 633 at the 2021 American Rental Association (ARA) Show. The annual trade show and convention will take place October 17 to 20 in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We offer six mini excavators, which are popular machines in the rental market, particularly for customers in construction and landscaping industries,” says Aaron Kleingartner, product and dealer marketing manager for Doosan Infracore North America, LLC.
The Doosan DX62R-3
The Doosan DX62R-3 is a 13,779-pound (6,250-kilogram) crawler excavator with a 58.6-horsepower (43.7-kilowatt) diesel engine. Its standard attachments include a bucket, a thumb, and a quick coupler, but it’s approved for use with angle-tilt, ditch cleaning, and heavy-duty buckets as well. The operator can select an auxiliary flow rate or use the detent (continuous flow) mode to perform precise jobs with various attachments.
The DX62R-3 is just 78 inches (1,981 millimeters) wide, and its tailswing has a minimal overhang of 4.9 in. (124.5 mm). The 7-ton (6.4-metric-ton)-class excavator can exert up to 9,722 pounds-force (43.25 kiloNewtons) of bucket breakout force. Its maximum digging depth is 13.5 feet (4.1 meters) with its standard arm.
The Doosan DX85R-3
Doosan’s DX85R-3 uses the same 58.6-HP engine as the DX62R-3, but the 18,960-lb (8,600-kg) DX85R-3 model brings much more bucket breakout force to bear with 14,509 lbf (64.5 kN) on tap. The DX85R-3 can also dig deeper than the DX62R-3 with a 15.5-ft (4.7-m) maximum digging depth with the standard arm.
The 90-in. (2,286-mm)-wide DX85R-3 crawler excavator has a tailswing overhang of 5.9 in. (150 mm) while slewing. Doosan says that its slew performance is powerful enough to recommend the machine for jobs on a slope.
Doosan also mentions the DX85R-3’s drive system, which automatically shifts to a lower gear when more torque is required. The 9.5-ton (8.6-mt) class crawler excavator also has a color display panel that presents the machine’s instrumentation data such as its engine rpms, throttle position, remaining fuel, coolant temperature, and more. The screen also allows the operator to select the auxiliary hydraulic flow mode for attachments.
